FAQ

Domande frequenti

2. How and when should I make reservation?

Reservations can be made by phone or directly on site at the office of the Cooperativa Smeraldo, preferably 1-2 days in advance.

For groups, it is advisable to book with a few weeks in advance.

3. Where does the visit start?

The meeting point for the visit is at the office of the Cooperativa Smeraldo - S. Giovanni Square, 9 in Fondo.

Campers and buses should park near Smeraldo Lake above the village of Fondo.

5. What equipment does the organization provide and what is the recommended clothing?

Equipment provided by the organization includes sanitized protective helmet (MANDATORY) and disposable bonnet.

PLEASE NOTE: THE ORGANIZATION DOES NOT PROVIDE HELMETS FOR CHILDREN 1 TO 3 YEARS OF AGE - Children 1 to 3 years of age, carried in baby carrier backpacks, are allowed ONLY if they have a protective helmet. Babies under 1 year old are not allowed.

It is recommended to wear comfortable hiking or gym shoes and to bring a k-way or waterproof jacket for water splashes or in case of uncertain weather.

6. Can I bring my dog?

Dogs are allowed only if they are small and easily transportable because the path is entirely on perforated metal grating and they can hurt their paws or get scared.

7. I have heart disease or suffer from vertigo, do you recommend the visit?

The visit is not recommended for heart patients and those who suffer a lot from vertigo and claustrophobia because of the possibility of fatigue (1.200 steps in total, 140 meters of difference in height) and because of the presence of high points (walkways are about 40-50 meters above the stream) and narrow passages.
